Short answer: If you own a business you are thinking about selling, WETYR may already have a buyer looking for it. Tell us about the business in confidence. We check it against the buy boxes of the qualified buyers on our registry and introduce the ones who fit. There is no cost to you, and WETYR is not a broker: once introduced, you and the buyer deal directly.
How It Works
- You tell us about the business. Industry, location, roughly what it brings in and earns, and when you would like to sell. It takes about two minutes and nothing is published.
- We check it against real buyers. Every buyer on the WETYR registry has told us the industry, location, size and price range they want to buy. We compare your business to each buy box.
- We ask before any introduction. If a buyer fits, we tell you who they are and what they are looking for. Nothing about your business is shared until you say yes.
- You and the buyer take it from there. Price, terms, diligence and closing are between you, the buyer and your own advisors. We recommend a mutual NDA before any financials change hands.
What WETYR Is, And Is Not
WETYR is not a business broker. We do not list your business, represent you in the sale, set your price or negotiate on your behalf, and we do not take a fee tied to your sale closing. What we do is marketing: we build a registry of serious buyers, learn exactly what each one wants to own, and connect them with owners whose businesses fit. That keeps the process quiet. Your business is never advertised, so employees, customers and competitors do not find out it might be for sale.
If you want a full marketed sale run on your behalf, a licensed business broker or buyer and seller introductions is the right call, and you are free to use one alongside us. Many owners start here because a single well-matched buyer is often the shortest path to a conversation worth having.
Who Is Looking To Buy
Registry members are acquirers with a defined buy box and a credible way to pay for the deal:
- Search funders and self-funded searchers looking for one business to run themselves, often a retiring owner's company. How selling to a search fund works.
- Holding companies and family offices that buy and keep businesses for the long term.
- Private equity platforms adding companies to a business they already own in your industry. Selling to a competitor or larger player.
- Individual operators buying their first business, frequently with an SBA 7(a) loan and a seller note.
If you would rather sell to your own team, read selling to your employees through an ESOP or management buyout first, and talk to us about whether an outside buyer makes more sense.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it cost anything to be introduced to buyers?
No. There is no cost to the owner for an introduction. You tell us about the business, we check it against the buy boxes of the buyers on our registry, and if one fits we introduce you. WETYR does not charge sellers a listing fee, a retainer or a fee tied to your sale closing.
Is WETYR a business broker?
No. WETYR does not negotiate for either side; price and terms are set by the owner and buyer with their own advisors. We find and introduce buyers whose stated buy box matches your business. Once you are introduced, you and the buyer work out the deal directly with your own attorney, accountant and advisors.
Who are the buyers?
Registry members are acquirers who have told us exactly what they want to own: search funders, self-funded searchers, holding companies, family offices, private equity platforms adding to an existing company, and individual operators. Each one gives us an industry, location, size and price range, plus how they plan to pay.
Will my employees or customers find out?
Not from us. We do not publish a listing or advertise your business. Your name, location and financials are not shared with anyone until you agree to an introduction, and we recommend a mutual NDA before any financial details change hands.
What happens if no buyer fits right now?
We keep your information on file and check it against every new buyer who joins the registry. If a fit comes along, we ask you before making any introduction. You can also tell us at any time that you would rather not be contacted.
What should I have ready?
To start, only the basics: industry, location, roughly what the business brings in and earns, and your timeline. A free valuation from our calculator helps you set expectations. Buyers will later ask for three years of financials, tax returns, and a list of key customers and staff, so it helps to start gathering them early.
